Love Letter from Lugansk
Dear Anastasia,
I want to tell everyone about my meeting with Richard. I am a long time client of Anastasia and this was my first meeting with a foreigner. I was certainly very excited imagining to myself all the possibilities this meeting could produce, and the visit came to meet all my expectations. When we met at the airport I recognized Richard because he had a red suitcase as he told me he would over the telephone. I have to admit that he looked much younger than his picture and I think any young man would envy his liveliness and energy. He was staying in Lugansk for two days and I think he learned a lot about the city during his stay. We went to the museum together with an interpreter as he is interested in the Ukrainian mode of life. There we saw scenes from military life and it turned out that Richard knew the history of Ukraine very well. He told me many things from his life and his country that we hadn’t discussed in our email correspondence. Now I can understand the saying “one meeting is an equivalent of 1,000 letters”.
Another day we went to the local park as I wanted to show Richard Lugansk from the heath from the top of the Ferris wheel. I think he was impressed that I was from Lugansk and could tell him quite a lot about my city. Richard wasn’t bored as I did my best to entertain him. I felt very comfortable with him and I that I succeeded a lot in my understanding of the English language. I was a little bit upset when he left. We exchanged our personal emails as he said that he wants to come to Lugansk again later this year.
So as you are able to see our story has not finished yet as he promised there will be a continuation of it.
Respectfully,
Julia – Lugansk, Ukraine
Richard – Denver, Colorado
